Seafood Boil Shrimp

Ingredients

  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 4 tbsp Kelchner's Seafood Boil Marinade and Sauce
  • 2 cups flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 lb. medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt, to taste

Dressing

  • ½ cup mayo
  • ½ cup Kelchner's Seafood Boil Marinade and Sauce

Directions

1. Combine dressing ingredients and refrigerate until needed.

2. Heat 1 inch of oil over medium heat. Place the buttermilk in a shallow bowl, add Kelchner's Seafood Boil Marinade and Sauce. In another shallow bowl, stir together the flour, cornstarch, and Old Bay seasoning. Working in batches, dip the shrimp in the flour mixture, then the buttermilk mixture, then again in the flour mixture.

3. Working in batches, fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy, 2 to 3 minutes, turning occasionally. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Season with salt. 

4. Toss the cooked shrimp in the dressing mixture coating evenly. Serve immediately.
